It is our goal to build unity amongst students who identify with the African American cultural and live in Northern Colorado by supporting them while they are developing a sense of who they are and their potential while giving back to the Fort Collins Community.

Our Target Audience:

African American students – “Travelers”

*Bi-racial and multi-racial students are invited as well as students who do not identify as African American but identify with the cultural.  

  • Elementary 3rd - 5th-grade students
  • Middle School students
  • High School students


  • Selected Colorado State University students "Destination Leaders."  All Destination Leaders will have gone through a background check prior to working with your child(ren).

 Overview: This is a Precollege Mentoring program that will focus on 3 main points.

  1. Cultural Awareness
  2. Leadership Development
  3. Community Service

Selected college African American students will be paired with a group based on the grade of completion. They will meet once a month and discuss monthly topics.

Program Length:

Once a month on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to NOON.

Meetings are held at Colorado State University, Edwards Hall

Depart @ 9:00 a.m.

Play Time @ 10:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Lunch @ 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.

Pickup time from CSU between 3:30/4:00 p.m.

Cost $35 (includes RT transportation - chartered bus, t-shirts, play time and lunch)


2016-2017 Meetings - $30 Registration fee (includes materials and snacks)

 *All Meetings will be held in Edwards Hall.
